April Notes: A Season of Building

April 19, 2026

There’s a certain energy in the air right now. The days are stretching a little longer, the light feels softer, and you can almost feel the growing season right around the corner. I find myself getting excited in that very specific way that only this time of year brings. Thinking about what’s coming into season, what’s being planted, and all the ways we get to reconnect with food at its source.

On my end, things have felt full. Tight in some moments, but in a really good way. The kind of full that reminds me I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

I’ve been working on some really fun collaborations with a few other small business entrepreneurs, and that has been incredibly energizing. I’m leaning even more into community right now, continuing to build something that feels thoughtful, supportive, and rooted in shared values. That piece is really important to me, not just in business, but in life.

I’ve also been preparing for a trip to Nashville, where I’ll be attending the Unreasonable Hospitality conference. I’ve followed that work for a while, and being in a space like that, surrounded by people who care deeply about how we show up for others, feels like exactly what I need right now.

This season is also a reminder of something I’ve been very intentional about over the years. Creating a life where work and life don’t feel separate. Coming out of the restaurant industry, that was something I knew I wanted to do differently. I didn’t want a life that needed escaping from. I wanted something integrated. Something that allowed me to move through my days with purpose, while still making space for rest, connection, and joy.

That mindset continues to guide how I build my business and how I choose the people I work with. Alignment matters. Energy matters. And the way we show up for ourselves and each other matters just as much as the work itself.

Right now, I’m focused on finding that balance in real time. Not perfectly, but intentionally.

As we move deeper into spring, I’m looking forward to sharing more of what’s growing, what’s evolving, and what’s being created along the way.
