
This super easy and delicious cornbread recipe is a crowd-pleaser that I’ve been baking for years! It's light, buttery, and perfectly sweetened, making it the ideal companion for chili, stew, or soup. Whether you're hosting a cozy dinner or a casual weeknight meal, this cornbread is always a hit!
Ingredients
- 4oz melted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1-2 tablespoons vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 tablespoon baking soda
- 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Honey optional
Cooking Tools
- 8x8 pan or muffin tin
- 2 mixing bowls
- Large fork
- Rubber Spatula
- Liquid & dry measuring cups
- Spray oil
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease your baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just combined. Stir in buttermilk.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan, drizzle with honey (optional). Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
